It is with a heavy heart that her CAMACOP Family and EZD DMS Rev. Felimon Anito shares with you the news of the passing of our dear sister in Christ, LM Dorothy Berja Lusay. She peacefully entered into the presence of our Lord on July 30, 2023, at the age of 92. LM Dorothy’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to the ministry.
LM Dorothy was born and raised in Dansal, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur. She attended EBCS and though she did not complete her degree, her thirst for knowledge and love for the Lord never wavered. For an astounding 65 years, she faithfully served in the ministry, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of countless individuals.
Her last ministry assignment was at Salambuyan Alliance in Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur. Prior to that, she served at Tuboy Alliance Church in Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte, Dansal Alliance Church in Lapuyan, and Salambuyan Alliance Church in Lapuyan. LM Dorothy’s commitment to spreading the Gospel and nurturing the body of Christ was evident in every aspect of her life.
LM Dorothy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Rev. Leopoldo Lusay, and together they raised five children – three boys and two girls. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced the entire church family as her own.
As we mourn the loss of our dear sister, let us also celebrate the life she lived and the impact she made. LM Dorothy’s legacy of faith, perseverance, and selfless service will continue to inspire us all. We will gather to honor her memory and lay her earthly body to rest on August 6, 2023.
During this time of grief, let us remember the comforting words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14: “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
May we find solace in the assurance that LM Dorothy is now in the presence of our Savior, free from pain and suffering. Let us also extend our love and support to the Lusay family during this difficult time, lifting them up in prayer and offering our assistance in any way we can.
